COSMED is glad to introduce the integrated dosimeter module, a new option available for Quark Spiro and Quark PFT.

The dosimeter module allows a more flexible and accurate management of bronchial challenge tests. It consists of an ampoule (typically containing the bronchial stimulant) and a nebulizer electronically controlled by the Quark (Spiro or PFT) main unit. The PFT suite program allows the progressive delivering of additional doses of bronchial stimulant according to a predefined and customizable protocol.

The technology used is known as “5 breath dosimeter protocol” and it is fully detailed in the ATS guidelines 1999 (ATS Guidelines for Methacholine and exercise challenge testing – 1999. AJRCCM vol. 161. p.309-329, 2000).
